Start a conversation

When voice is available, say Hey Eila. You can also open Controls from the right edge of the display and tap Talk to Eila. Wait for Eila’s opening greeting, then speak. To end the conversation, open Controls again and tap Stop Eila voice.

Ask for a supported Eila task

Try “Set a five-minute timer,” “Open Calendar,” or “What’s on my to-do list?” Eila can answer from the household context it is given and carry out supported display and household tasks. It may ask a necessary question when a request needs more detail; answer that question once.

To learn a procedure, ask a question such as “How do I set a timer?” Eila explains the steps; asking how does not start a timer. To have Eila do it, say “Set a five-minute timer.” Wait for its confirmed result before assuming the timer started.

Voice is not a login. Protected changes still require their existing authenticated account or adult access step.

When voice is unavailable

  • If Voice is off or the microphone is unavailable, nothing is interpreted or changed. Use touch or wait until the display shows voice is available.
  • Online voice needs a working connection. If Eila cannot start or continue a conversation, use touch instead. Try voice again when the connection and online service are available.
  • If a provider or connection failure interrupts a request, wait for the display to return to its ready state and check the relevant screen before trying again. Do not assume a task happened when no result was shown.
