## Applies to

- EILA_32 DISPLAY from 0.1.0 through 0.1.0

## Start a quick timer

Open **Clock** and choose **Timer**. Under **Quick timers**, tap a saved timer card for a one-tap start. The active timer shows its label, status, and remaining time.

## Start a timer by voice

When voice is available, say **“Hey Eila, set a five-minute timer.”** You can include a label, such as **“Set a ten-minute pasta timer.”** Eila starts the timer through Clock and confirms the result. **“How do I set a timer?”** asks for instructions and does not start a countdown.

Voice can keep up to four local timers. It does not silently replace an existing one. When Eila asks which timer you mean or which one to stop, name the timer before it continues.

## Start a custom timer

If you want a different duration, use **Custom timer**:

1. Choose a duration such as **1 min**, **3 min**, **5 min**, **10 min**, or **15 min**.
2. For another duration, tap the displayed duration, set it, and confirm.
3. Optionally enter a **Timer label**.
4. Tap **Start**.

## Control an active timer

- Tap **Pause** to pause the countdown, then **Resume** to continue.
- Tap **Reset** to return the current timer to an idle state.
- After the timer is complete, tap **Restart** to run the same duration again.

If several timers are available, select the one you want before using its controls. If Clock shows **Clock could not save this local timer state**, the new start was not confirmed; check the current Timer state before trying again.

These touch controls use the display's local Clock path, so an unavailable online voice service does not prevent you from trying the timer on screen. If the display shows a save, stale, or scheduling warning, check the current Timer state before trying again.

> [!CAUTION] If Clock shows **Off-screen delivery is unavailable on this device**, treat the visible Timer screen as the source of truth and do not rely on an off-screen completion alert. This development article does not qualify physical alert, speaker, or hardware behavior.
